When the Brava was first launched by Fiat in 1995, it was a future-ready spaceship compared to everything else in its class. Thanks to its Avantgarde styling cues it still looks and feels like a much newer vehicle even 30 years later.
However, much like other Fiats of the time, the futuristic looks which drew buyers in, soon faded thanks to poor build quality issues and electrical gremlins, leaving the Brava with a typical ‘Fix it again tomorrow’ reputation.
In fairness to Fiat, on the rare occasion they managed to build a good one, they actually did a pretty damn good job. With most Brava’s hitting used car dealerships by 1999, very very used car dealerships by the mid 00’s and the 2009 scrappage schemes putting pay to the rest, it’s only the ‘good ones’ which have survived this long.
This example is the slightly beefier 1.6 SX spec with an automatic. Outside the unusual metallic grey paintwork is still in great shape and it sports its original SX spec wheel trims too.
Inside it’s all curvy grey plastic and funky seats but you do have the original cassette player (with a misbehaving flap), electric front windows and electric sunroof.
With only 40k on the clock, the 1.6 still pulls itself along nicely and the automatic is still smooth and precise, well, as precise as a 27 year old automatic can be.
As far as rare-but-nobody-cares 90’s Fiats go, this is a good one, one of three currently on the road in SX 1.6 Automatic spec and a supremely low mileage example too.
Tickets will launch on Mar 28th 2025 and the LIVE draw will be on Sunday 3rd May at 8:30pm
