Following the success of the now institutionalised Mondeo Mk1 introduced in 1992, the time for an upgrade was looming and in 1996, the Mondeo Mk2 was introduced.

Bearing a lot of similarities to its predecessor, the Mk2 could almost have been considered as the 3rd facelift of the Mk1, but the curvy inspiration of the late 90’s is a lot more prominent.

This Mk2 2.0 Ghia X Automatic is a very nicely specced example. Outside you’ve got alloy wheels, chrome accents on the boot and grille, ‘Ghia’ badging and front fog lights, all wrapped up nicely in Cuirass Metallic (Code RD6).

Inside however, is where this particular example really looks after you, heated leather seats, air conditioning, full electric windows, mirrors, adjustable seats and sunroof, plus a heated screen, cruise control and the plastic wood effect (Plood 😅) trim around the dash.

The 2.0 is a lovely engine, it’s got guts but it’s smooth and quiet and the autobox is also just as tight and accurate, or at least as accurate as a 90’s automatic gearbox can be!

This example has only clocked up a smidge under 86,000 miles in its 29 years and comes fully serviced and MOTd for its winner.

As as retro Ford to drive daily, this thing is perfect, comfy, quick, smooth and with plenty of the modern optional extras you’d find in a modern car, but with all the alerts, beeps, farts and screens. Bliss!

Tickets launched on Nov 22nd 2025 and the LIVE draw will be on Sunday 28th December at 8:30pm
