ALRenault in the 90’s was a fantastic place to be, from the Williams Clio and Renaultsport Spider to the Biturbo Safrane, not to mention Renaults motorsport acumen, the Megane Maxi and the BTCC dominating Laguna, Renault was on top form.
One such piece of top form output were the high end Lagunas, sporting honking great 3.0 V6s and some future ready tech.
This particular example is a Mk1 Ph2 Laguna RTI V6 in Midnight Blue Metallic (NV472) with just over 88k miles on the clock, sporting its factory optional OZ Superturismo wheels, rear spoiler and, rarest of all, a five speed manual gearbox to make the most of that 3.0 V6 up front.
Outside the Midnight Blue is in decent shape, sporting its fair share of dings and marks but nothing dreadful, the wheels are also in presentable condition. Up front you’ve got fog lights and those glorious yellow headlights and the recognisable blue tinted windscreen.
Inside you’ve got acres of velour twinned with a patterned fabric to give the interior a more modern look and feel. Being a high spec Laguna there are electric windows front and back and electric mirrors, air conditioning, warning voice synthesiser and the Radio/Cassette with steering wheel controls.
The hefty 3.0 V6 is smooth and grumbly with plenty of power right across the rev range and the rare five speed manual is a wonderful way to make the most of it.
Mk1 Lagunas are becoming harder and harder to locate and these top spec V6s are an even tougher find, in manual format, this thing is a garlic flavoured unicorn. An ideal and useable addition to any 90’s Renault collection or simply a rare, comfortable and wafty motorway cruiser to enjoy.
