2000 Renault Laguna 1.8 Alizé

By the millennium, the Mk1 Laguna had been on the market for 6 years and barring one minor facelift, the old barge was very much the same car presented to the market in late 1993.
In December 2000 the futuristic (if electrically flawed) Laguna Mk2 was going to be available but in the preceding September, this car, one of the very last Mk1s was registered, in Alizé spec, on an ‘X’ plate.
Nothing wafts as comfortably as a Laguna in its prIce bracket and this one is expectedly comfy, cosy velour seats, soft suspension and deep tyre walls to soften the potholes.
Inside it’s a fairly well equipped car, alongside the acres of grey plastic you’ve got air conditioning, electric front windows, electric mirrors and sunroof (which works) and a radio/cassette with steering column controls.
Outside she’s an understated motorway cruiser, steel wheels with original ‘Alizé’ spec trims, front fog lights, ‘Alizé 16v’ badging on the front doors … and honking great tow bar on the back (which may or may not stay) All of this is wrapped up in inconspicuous metallic silver.
Showing just under 83,000 miles this Mk1 comes with the midrange 1.8 pumping out a biblical 118bhp, mated to a 5 speed manual box.
All in all this old ‘Guna makes for a very easy retro Renault to get along with, she’s comfy, powerful enough to move you along nicely and of course, delivers on the 90’s Renault chic vibe perfectly.
Tickets will launch on Nov 6th 2025 and the LIVE draw will be on Sunday 11th January 2026 at 8:30pm
